Through its US subsidiary, Atradius Trade Credit Insurance Inc, opportunities exist for a Junior Accountant to join our team in Hunt Valley, MD.

Job summary

We are looking for a junior accountant to join our finance team. The junior accountant will report to the senior accountant and will be responsible for assisting with maintaining the integrity and accuracy of accounting information, perform various monthly accounts reconciliation, assist with the preparation of our financial statements and assist with projects assigned by management.

Major Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Prepare and Post transactions to the general ledger
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliation to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance
  • Review all inter-company transactions and generate invoices as necessary
  • Review and reconcile bank statements
  • Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts receivable
  • Back-up accounts payable activities
  • Support month-end and year-end close process
  • Assist with completion of the quarterly and annual regulatory filings
  • Assist with annual external audit
  • Document policies, procedures and work flow for assigned areas of responsibility
  • Perform such other accounting, or administrative tasks as may be required from time to time by the CFO or Senior Accountant

 

Qualifications and skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting Required
  • 1 to 2+ years’ experience in general accounting
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Deadline-Oriented
  • Ability to function well in a team-oriented environment
  • Familiarity with Oracle a plus
  • Insurance experience a plus
